Oeko-Tex

It is not possible to see or feel if there are harmful chemicals in the clothes, and only a few chemicals disappear after washing.

Oeko-tex is the world's leading label for textiles that have been tested for substances that are harmful to health and the environment. The intention behind the Oeko-Tex scheme is that clothes sold with the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 label must be made of materials that are protected against harming people and that you can therefore be trusted to use.

With your Oeko-tex certified product, all materials and components must comply with the test criteria in STANDARD 100. The test criteria are performed uniformly worldwide by the independent OEKO-TEX® institutes, such as the Danish Technological Institute, and can be applied to all textile products from thread to the end product.

The regulations concerning, among other things, banned azo dyes, formaldehyde, and nickel are included in the criteria. Even harmful chemicals that are not yet regulated are also being tested. OEKO-TEX® laboratory tests include about 100 test parameters, and take into account the intended use of the textiles.
